MEET COURTNEY
COURTNEY W. BURTON
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Born and raised in Wapakoneta, Ohio, Courtney has built a distinguished career as an attorney and business executive with a knack for helping clients navigate the complexities of corporate law and business strategy. A graduate of The Ohio State University, she earned her Bachelor’s degree with honors in Accounting from the Fisher College of Business and then Juris Doctorate from the Moritz College of Law to her credentials.
Prior to joining Flex Real Estate, Courtney’s legal practice focused on representing corporations in all aspects of corporate law, residential and commercial real estate acquisitions, financing and leasing, business formation, business purchases and sales, and complex estate planning for high-net-worth business owners and professionals. With a practical, results-driven approach, she has always thrived on working with business owners to structure deals that make sense not just on paper but in real life.
Her professional journey also includes serving as CFO for Midwest Specialties, Inc. and Flex Trailers, Inc., and during her tenure in that capacity, she participated in transactions that doubled the size of the Company’s holdings while refining her financial and operational experience. As a result, she became COO of these companies, along with Flex Real Estate and its related entities.
Outside of work, Courtney is the Treasurer of the Wapakoneta Area Community Foundation and mom to twins—daughter Claire, who works for Cintas Corporation in Cincinnati, and son Michael, a 3rd year medical student. She, her husband Mike (also an attorney), and their young adults enjoy the challenges of balancing demanding careers with snow skiing out West and water skiing at Lake Norman in North Carolina with family friends.
Known for strategic thinking, broad experience, and a willingness to accept almost any challenge, Courtney relishes her role as a trusted advisor and member of the executive team.
